Richard Roland Holst’s Apollo – Costume Design presents the Greek god of music and poetry as an elegant, almost otherworldly figure. Apollo stands in profile holding a classical lyre, dressed in a flowing white garment inspired by ancient Greek drapery and crowned with a distinctive winged headpiece. Created in 1910, the design was part of Roland Holst’s work for theatrical productions inspired by classical mythology.
