Dart was an American illustrator and cartoonist whose work frequently explored the possibilities of flight and futuristic transportation. His 1908 Explorigator comic strip, for example, revolved around an imaginary flying machine and its young crew, while his illustrations for All-Story and other periodicals frequently depicted fantastic aircraft.
